Swedish supplier for slot gaming in the casino industry, Play’n GO, has released its latest game, Divine Showdown, a mythology-themed battle of epic proportions.
The 5-reel, 3-row, 20-payline video slot is unique from other games of the same genre in that it does not limit its focus to a single religion or belief system, rather combines powerful figures from four different mythologies.
“Mythologies are extremely popular in all forms of entertainment but they very rarely ever crossover with each other in any way.”
Gods mash-up:
Presented on backdrop worthy of a battle of the gods, and in addition to the base game symbols starting with 9 to A royals, the characters include the mighty Thor, the Norse god of thunder; Athena, the Greek goddess of wisdom and war; Wukong, the Chinese monkey king and Anubis, the Egyptian god of death.
The game’s main attraction is its interactive bonus feature where players are allowed to choose one of the gods to go to battle for them against the remaining three.
Unique spin:
A departure from the norm, the game makes for an interesting addition to the Växjö-headquartered developer‘s award-winning games portfolio, and one that has something for anyone interested in mythologically-themed offerings.
Having had success with games such as Viking Runecraft, based on the Scandinavian seafaring warriors, and Legacy of Egypt, the ancient Egypt themed title featuring the crocodile-god Sobek and others, the provider’s latest release should also prove to be a hit with players.
Chief Executive Officer for Play’n GO, Johan Törnqvist, commented on the idea of melding different worlds to create a new concept…
“Mythologies are extremely popular in all forms of entertainment but they very rarely ever crossover with each other in any way.
We wanted an imaginative concept for this game and, with the scope each mythology brings to the title, it brings a new perspective on a popular genre and adds a great deal of excitement to the gameplay,” according to the Swedish games developer’s official press release.
Same but different:
Speaking of mythology-themed games, just prior to its current release the slots specialist launched, Ankh of Anubis, which once again features Anubis, but done in a new way, the importance of which, the firm’s CEO emphasized when creating a theme that has already been used.
