After starting construction on its Point Place Casino in July, the Oneida Indian Nation has now reportedly announced that the $40 million upstate New York venue will be opening its doors for the first time later today for gamblers to enjoy its selection of 500 slots and 20 gaming tables.

According to a report from the UpstateNewYork.com news portal, the federally recognized Oneida Indian Nation revealed that its Point Place Casino sits off New York State Route 31 in the community of Bridgeport around 15 miles from the city of Syracuse and features a 65,000 sq ft gaming floor as well as a pair of restaurants in Wicked Good Pizza and The Burgers of Madison County offering seating for some 325 diners.

The Oneida Indian Nation already operates the nearby Yellow Brick Road Casino as well as Oneida County’s Turning Stone Resort Casino and reportedly explained that its latest smoke-free venture will employ approximately 200 people with patrons moreover able to enjoy a pair of bars, a trio of heated outdoor patios and an outlet of local bakery and chocolatier, Opals Confectionery.

Ray Halbritter, Chief Executive Officer for the Oneida Indian Nation’s casino-operating Oneida Nation Enterprises vehicle, reportedly declared that Point Place Casino has ‘a whole different feel and vibe’ when compared to the tribe’s other venues thanks to its ‘outdoor Adirondack feel’.

Halbritter furthermore stated that the Madison County venue has parking for around 800 cars while a deal recently inked with gaming products and services giant Scientific Games Corporation means that visitors will be able to order and pay for any drinks direct from machines on the casino floor.

“There’s plenty of market here,” Halbritter reportedly told UpstateNewYork.com. “We are very careful about our investments. It’s not just spontaneous. We wouldn’t build the property if we thought the market wasn’t there.”
