After having taken its portfolio live in Sweden’s newly regulated market early last month, leading multi-product content provider, Pragmatic Play, has now launched its award-winning content with Svenska Spel Sport & Casino.
According to the official press release…
For the very first time, Svenska Spel’s iGaming subsidiary, Svenska Spel Sport & Casino, can offer its customers online casino games, thanks to new legislation ratified by the Swedish parliament, Riksdagen, on June 7, 2018, which introduced a newly regulated market to Scandinavia’s most populated nation on January 1, 2019.
Regulated market:
The state-owned operator was among the first licensees for the newly-regulated market and on November 30, 2018, was awarded permits by regulator, Lotteriinspektionen, to offer both sports betting and online gaming from the 1st of the new year.
Svenska Spel has for more than two decades held a betting monopoly in Sweden, however, the terms of its license made it unable to compete with unlicensed rivals offering products like online casino and poker.
Complete access:
Players in Sweden now have access to the Malta-headquartered provider‘s complete portfolio of online games, including the multi-award winning Wolf Gold, along with such favorites as Da Vinci’s Treasure and Great Rhino.
Chief Commercial Officer for Pragmatic, Melissa Summerfield, said that they look forward to continuing the “commercial momentum” the firm generated last year, and “to cooperate with such a reputable operator in a regulated market is exciting for us.
Swedish players are renowned for enjoying engaging, entertaining slots, and we look forward to supplying Svenska Spel Sport & Casino with content their players will love.”
“high quality, innovative games”
For its part, Svenska Spel Sport & Casino’s Head of Casino, Jonas Nygren, said…
“Pragmatic Play has a portfolio of high quality, innovative games, and we are delighted to offer these products to our customers. We are looking forward to a successful and exciting partnership going forward.”
Significant alliances:
The company with offices in Malta, Gibraltar and the Philippines has over the past 12 months inked a series of key commercial agreements in regulated markets, having grown its reach with operators including Scommesse Italia, Casino Barcelona, Kindred Group, Åland-based gaming operator, Paf (Ålands Penningautomatförening), and others.
Most recently, the firm acquired virtual sports supplier VSoftCo, marking its second major corporate acquisition after taking control of live casino provider Extreme Live Gaming from Novomatic last year.
ICE London 2019:
In addition to its impressive and ever-expanding library of video slots, Pragmatic will reveal all-new live casino products, including Blackjack, Roulette and Baccarat, alongside a highly customizable, mobile-first bingo product at ICE London 2019 at Stand N8-120 from February 5-7.
