President Casino in downtown St. Louis, Missouri was closed Sunday May 3, through Tuesday May 5 due to rising floodwaters on the Mississippi river. It was the fourth time in 13 months that the casino had to close due to flooding. The closures due to flooding amounted to 45 days.
Two weeks after reopening, the Casino was forced to close once again on May 19th through May 23rd because of the rising flood waters. Marking the second closing this month and the fifth closing in the last 13 months.
The casino is located on the S.S. Admiral riverboat. Operators are considering moving the riverboat near the Chain of Rocks Bridge on the north edge of St. Louis to get away from the flood waters. Las Vegas based Pinnacle Entertainment Inc. owns the President Casino.
