The Deputy Director of the Ministry of Economy Finance Industry Department has reported that the border of Cambodia to Vietnam will now be the home of three new casinos. Ros Phearun spoke with the Phnom Penh Post and stated that the new casinos will be located from the Vietnam border of Takeo to the district of Kiri Vong.

The new facilities will most likely serve players located in Vietnam who are banned from taking part in game play in their home land. Vietnam offers land based casino facilities but does not allow citizens to take part in gaming. Cambodia also bans their citizens from taking part in their casinos so the new establishments should be welcomed by Vietnam residents.

According to the report, Phearun did not give the names of the new casino owners but did state that the facilities will be locally owned. Cambodia already has casinos located on the border of Thailand to service citizens of that area. Thailand does not allow casino gambling, but has government sanctioned racetracks. Many of the casinos located along the border of Cambodia area locally owned, however, large companies such as Entertainment Gaming Asia also provide gaming to Thai customers such as from their Dreamworld Casino in Pailin.
