Originally the Restoration of America’s Wire Act (RAWA) hearing was set for March 26, 2015, but it has been moved up a day. RAWA supporters might feel this is a gift, since hours before the hearing the Poker Players Alliance is going to hold a technology demonstration. The demonstration is to show that Sheldon Adelson’s claims that online gambling is dangerous are unfounded.

The RAWA hearing is just another attempt to block online gambling in the US from being legal on the Federal level. Online companies that stand to lose revenue support the opportunity to continue with such things as state run online lotteries, but a ban on online transactions could stop everything not just sports betting. Sports betting has been banned since 2011 when the 1961 act was applied.
