The Galesi Group of Rotterdam is set to meet with the Planning Commission of Schenectady, New York by the end of March to discuss further the plans for a new building project to be located along the water front and have a $450 million price tag. New renderings were submitted to the Commission and shows the casino of the project to have been moved from the original location of Erie Boulevard to provide room for development in the future.

The new plans show the move of the casino facility as well as seeing the hotel moved adjacent to the gaming facility and constructed separately. The new project will be known as the Rivers Casino and Resort of Mohawk Harbor when completed and drawings show the casino will have a five story parking garage located alongside the building.

During the meeting with the Commission, a review of the master plan will be conducted with the meeting scheduled for March 31st at 6:30 pm. According to Christine Primiano, the City Planner, the discussion will include the building locations, footprint, roads, and paths for bikes as well as utility placement.

Primiano believes a second session will most likely be needed to review the presentations set to be shown by three experts of the Galesi Group. Once the meetings of the master plan take place, Galesi will be able to move forward and seek final approval of the plan from the commission. The plans include a residential retail development which will house a five acre marine with 300 apartments, Marriott hotel, boat slips and additional hotel associated with the Rivers Casino.
