A brand new $300 million casino and hotel opens today at 11am in D’Iberville, Mississippi east of I-110 just across the Back Bay from Biloxi. The 15-story Scarlet Pearl Casino broke ground in July 2014 and beat opening day estimates by several weeks. The ribbon will be cut at 11am, a luncheon will be held for visiting dignitaries at noon in the Strand Events Center, and a celebratory fireworks display will be held for the community at 6pm.

Visitors to the property will find a state-of-the-art casino featuring 60,445-square feet of gaming space with 1,350 slot machines and 45 table games including Blackjack, Craps and Roulette, and a 10 table Poker Room. The new hotel offers 300 guestrooms and suites, including 10 Penthouses. The floor to ceiling windows are reported to have cost over $25,000 alone for each of the outfacing guestrooms. Additional amenities include several restaurants, one with a mighty oak in the middle of it. A buffet will open along with an Asian noodle bar called Chopstx.

Recreational amenities include a Garden Oasis lagoon pool stretching out among palm trees planted in early November. The 42,000 square foot Lava Links miniature golf course is a world class 36 hole adventure with a volcano as its centerpiece surrounded by luscious landscaping, and plenty of challenging twists and turns. Visitors can play all 36 holes or play 18 holes at a time. The golf course is handicap accessible.

Locals and visitors have been waiting 20 years for a successful venture to take off in D’Iberville and Scarlet Pearl seems to have all of the pieces in place to shine high above the Bay’s skyline for decades to come.

The doors are opening with lucrative offers for players, from a $500 cash back scheme on initial slot losses to matching all competitor free slot play and table game offers from opening day until December 30th (must present actual mailer from competitor).  Rated players can also bring in their tier cards from other Gulf Coast casinos and start out at their existing level – instant perks and comps.
