Fresh from entering into a definitive agreement to purchase Canadian rival DEQ Systems Corporation for around $20.7 million and giant gaming technology provider Scientific Games Corporation has revealed an extension to its nearly 30-year relationship with the Massachusetts Lottery.
With operations on six continents, Las Vegas-based Scientific Games Corporation declared that it provides lottery games, services, systems and retail technology to more than 150 lotteries around the world and has now extended its contract to serve as the Massachusetts Lottery’s primary instant games supplier for another year.
Scientific Games Corporation stated that the Massachusetts Lottery recently celebrated five consecutive years of record-breaking sales for its instant games and has increased retailing by 19% since 2010. June saw the lottery announce $986.9 million in annual net profit, which represented the largest in its 45-year history, with instant games accounting for 69% of total retail sales.
“We are extremely proud of what we have accomplished together,” said John Schulz, Instant Products Senior Vice-President for Scientific Games Corporation. “The Massachusetts Lottery is the best in the world when it comes to instant game sales. Many of the lottery industry’s best practices have been created and fine-tuned through our work in Massachusetts. We could not be more honored to be a part of this legendary success.”
Scientific Games Corporation, which developed the world’s first secure instant game in 1974, explained that it supplies its games to 23 of the world’s top 25 lotteries and accounts for 76% of all instant game retail revenues in the United States.
