In the United Kingdom, live race broadcaster The Racing Partnership has announced that its greyhound schedule for next year will encompass a minimum of 1,619 fixtures from twelve tracks located across the country.
A joint venture between racetrack owner Arena Racing Corporation Limited and seven British tracks, The Racing Partnership revealed that its 2018 fixtures list was compiled in cooperation with operator Bookmakers Afternoon Greyhound Service and will encompass races from Kinsley, Manchester, Newcastle, Nottingham, Birmingham, Peterborough, Poole, Sheffield, Sunderland, Swindon, Towcester and Great Yarmouth.
In addition, The Racing Partnership has inked a deal with the Bookmakers Technology Consortium Limited to film every one of the fixtures for broadcast while its future greyhound schedule is to be complemented by live action from a further 13 United Kingdom tracks owned by Arena Racing Company Limited along with horseracing from South Africa.
“We are delighted to have put together a fixture list based on greyhound racing from long-established tracks with a proven record of integrity and welfare,” read a statement from Mark Kingston, Media Technology and Production Director for Arena Racing Company Limited. “We have published the fixture list now to allow bookmakers to plan at a time of great uncertainty and to protect the value of over-the-counter business in their shops. Similarly, online and international bookmakers will be able to plan on the basis that these tried and tested greyhound tracks will be available as part of the services they supply to their customers.”
