After being rejected by the Mississippi Gaming Commission on two previous occasions, real estate developer RW Development has reportedly once again resurrected a plan to build a new casino at 1820 Beach Boulevard in Biloxi.

Mississippi newspaper, The Sun Herald, is reporting that RW Development, whose initial proposal in 2008 to build a casino on a plot of land located at the junction of Veterans Avenue and U.S.90 was reportedly rejected by the Mississippi Gaming Commission because the developer does not own property all the way to the water’s edge, is attempting for the third time to obtain site approval.

According to the news agency, a legal advertisement giving notice of RW Development’s intent to apply for a casino license with the state’s Gaming Commission was published in the Thursday, June 29 edition of The Biloxi-D’Iberville Press.

Allen Godfrey, Executive Director of the Gaming Commission, has reportedly confirmed that RW Development, owned by Ray Wooldridge, has filed its application and requested that it be placed on the gaming commission’s agenda for the next meeting, to be held in Jackson on July 27.

The Sun Herald reports that the legal notice says, “The applicants anticipate that the establishment will contain approximately 45,000 square feet of gaming space and approximately 1,300 slot machines and 20 table games.”

RW Development attorney, Michael Cavanaugh, reportedly gave no indication of a timeline or any other such details regarding the application.

Listed as the potential applicants are Ray Wooldridge and his son Brandon Wooldridge, Also listed is Big Play Entertainment, which is owned by Ray Wooldridge and is reportedly located opposite the proposed casino site.

Two weeks after the Gaming Commission meeting on March 16 this year when it denied the site approval, RW Development filed an appeal in Harrison County Circuit Court. On the same day, the commission rejected site approval in Diamondhead owned by Jacobs Entertainment.
