The Tinian Casino Gaming Control Commission has given the go ahead to two major investors to build a Titanic-themed casino on Tinian in the Northern Marianas. The commission has ruled that the two major investors in Bridge Investment Group, Silvia Siu and Xianjun Meng, are suitable to recieve a license.
The company is planning to build the Tinian Ocean View Casino Resort which will be a replica of the famous ocean liner that went down in the Atlantic Ocean in the early 1900’s. The planned 6-Star development is projected to cost US$130 million and include a casino, 300 guestrooms, retail outlets and banquet space. It will become the third casino licensed property in the region.
The project was delayed from a start date of December 2013 and could possibly open by March of 2017, however the Bridge Investment Group still needs to negotiate Section 16 Agreement which deals with timelines for the project.
