The online casino at VideoSlots has announced that it is set to launch a three-dimensional (3D) poker service early next year after acquiring the relevant technology from the estate of former operator PKR Limited.
Malta and United Kingdom-licensed VideoSlots explained that players will initially be able to access its new 3D poker product via a downloadable application for desktop computers. It subsequently declared that it plans to ‘soon after’ develop similar instant-play and Android-friendly mobile services.
PKR Limited went into administration in May while its 3D online poker technology, which was developed by a team led by Jez San, had permitted players to create personalized avatars in order to experience games in a more realistic environment.
Alexander Stevendahl, Chief Executive Officer for VideoSlots, stated that the purchase of PKR Limited’s 3D technology will allow his firm to ‘introduce a proven poker product to our customers’. He added that the innovation is to moreover complement its Battle of Slots product, which permits players to compete against each other in poker-style lobbies, as well as the site’s existing complement of almost 2,300 video slots and table games.
“VideoSlots has led the way in shaping the online casino sector in recent years and we will be looking to offer the same innovative experience with our poker product,” said Stevendahl.
