GAMAVRS and WPT Global have teamed up to launch a fun new online poker contest. Titled Poker Hero Challenge, players have until May 26 to compete in a special gaming contest with $20,000 up for grabs along with poker-themed NFT avatars. Players can use the avatars that are won within their account at WPT Global.

WPT Global is an online poker platform offering gaming options in more than 85 countries around the globe. The site has integrated the popular NFTs and is bringing the unique world into the realm of poker. General Manager of the Innovation Lab at Gamavrs’ parent company A5 Labs, Meysam Moradpour, commented on the new event, stating the company is excited to have teamed up with WPT Global.

“Our Poker Heroes NFTs offer immutable transparency and elevated perks and access for players, which will hopefully elevate the already highly popular game of poker even further.”

To take part in the new challenge, players need to sign up at WPT Global and create a new account. Solve the Poker Hero Challenge and then tag @gamavrs on Twitter, tweeting “I’m a poker hero #pokerherochallenge.”

Once this step is done, the social media team will contact players to verify the claim. Ten winners of the contest will receive $1,000 in cash. This will be won via drawing. The cash will be deposited into the WPT Global account. Every winner will earn a Poker Hero NFT. These NFTs are currently selling at Opensea for $450. The NFTs can also be used as the avatar of the player at WPT Global.

Additional Details

Players of WPT Global must play at least 500 hands to be eligible for a prize if won. Players who win a Poker Heros NFT will have a nice avatar but also have access to additional benefits. This includes freerolls, giveaways, a members-only Discord channel with LearnWPT content, and access to VIP events when WPT Live tournaments take place.

Avatar holders also have a chance to play against celebrities at WPT Global. Such poker greats as Tom Dwan and Phil Ivey are on the list of members. New players to WPT Global can also access freebies just for joining. This includes a free tournament ticket valued at $110 for the $100,000 guaranteed Welcome Event.
