More than a decade has passed since casino mogul Steve Wynn had left Atlantic City for the more prosperous Las Vegas. Three years ago he considered to return to New Jersey and enter its online gambling market, only to decide against it at the beginning of September 2015.
Wynn’s lawyer sent a letter to the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement on September 2, 2015 which reads that Wynn Interactive want to cancel its online gambling license application in the state. The regulatory body accepted the withdrawal a few days later.
In July 2013 the company took preliminary steps to enter the online gaming market in New Jersey. It would have partnered with Caesars Interactive to offer such services and products in the state. Even though the company’s application was approved in February, it warned that it might change its mind. According to Steve Wynn online gambling doesn’t seem to be “a good entrepreneurial opportunity”.
