Online poker players have another massive online poker tournament festival to enjoy beginning this week with the start of the XL Blizzard by 888poker. The online poker festival will feature 34 tournament events, running from January 18th until the 28th. Players will find a nice variety of poker game formats in the mix, plus prize pools will have large guarantees.

The first day of the festival will include three events. At 19:00 GMT, Event #1 and #2 will begin. Event #1 has a buy-in of $109 and is the $80,000 Opening Event. Event #2 has a much lower buy-in of $12 and will be a $15,000 Mini Opening tournament. The final event of the day is #3, which is a $20,000 Late Opening tournament with a $55 buy-in.

Players who take part in the XL Blizzard festival may find themselves seated at the virtual felt with top poker pros who are also ambassadors of 888poker. Such players could include Chris Moorman, Sofia Lovgren, Parker Talbot, Dominik Nitsche, Bruno Foster, Natalie Hof and Denilson.

To help their members earn seats, 888poker is offering up qualifiers to the Main Event and the Mini Tune Up Event. XL Blizzard Main Event qualifiers will run every day at 21:00 GMT with the top two players of the qualifier earning a Main Event seat worth $1,050. XL Blizzard Mini Tune Up Event Qualifiers will run each day at 17:00 GMT with the top 20 players of each qualifier earning a seat to the $12 buy-in tournament.

The online poker room is also offering up as much as $1 million in extra cash for special achievements. If players can win more than one XL Blizzard event, they stand to win extra cash prizes. A player who wins 2 events will earn $1,000, while 3 wins produces $10,000 in extra cash, 4 wins equals $100,000 and 5 wins will equal a $1 million additional cash prize!
