On June 3rd 2015, it was reported that for the opening on Tuesday, the Oneida Nation of New York welcomed massive crowds to the Yellow Brick Road Casino.

The Syracuse Post Standard said that more than 1500 people were in line for the grand re-opening. There were some that had waited all night just so they could be the first to enter the $20 million facility.

Ray Halbritter said it was an exciting day for the Oneida Nation, the employees, and the community.

The Yellow Brick Road Casino is in Chittenango, which is where ‘Wizard of Oz’ author L. Frank Baum was born.

The casino is 67,000 square feet and the inspiration for the amenities are taken from the classic Wizard of Oz theme.

The Yellow Brick Road Casino is in line with the identity of Chittenango and Oz. it has created hundreds of local jobs and it will help in the creation of tourism in Central New York.
