Breaking his own world record for most World Series of Poker bracelets earned, Phil Hellmuth is destined to go down in the poker history books. After holding steady at 13 WSOP bracelet wins, the poker pro finally earned his 14th after competing in the $10,000 World Series of Poker RAZZ Championship in Las Vegas.

Hellmuth earned a prize of $271,105 for the win but it was the bracelet that he wanted to win. Ahead of such poker greats as Doyle Brunson, Phil Ivey and Johnny Chan, Hellmuth has now pulled ahead by 4 bracelets as these pros have only 10 to their name.

The $10,000 Razz at the Rio even had 103 players competing and Hellmuth was able to outlast the competition and earn the first place win. This is only the second time the pro has won a WSOP bracelet in the game of Razz while the remaining come from some form of Hold’em.

After winning the WSOP bracelet, the poker pro was beside himself in amazement. The event was one where he kept his head down and tried not to dwell on the result, detaching himself from the possibility that he could win his 14th bracelet. After earning the victory, Hellmuth announced he would be dedicating the bracelet win to his friend, Dave Goldberg, an executive of Silicon Valley. Hellmuth plans on presenting the bracelet to Mr. Goldberg’s family.
