Resorts World Birmingham has been playing their cards very close to the chest and not releasing an opening date for the £150m integrated leisure and entertainment complex due to premiere “sometime mid-2015”. But one of the stores in the 50-vendor outlet mall may have let the cat out of the bag with an advertisement announcing a new Nike Factory Outlet store with a date of 3 September 2015. However we have been unable to confirm that date for a casino opening and are not yet able to book rooms at the Genting Hotel.

Resorts World Birmingham will be the UK’s first integrated destination leisure complex covering 538,000 sq. ft on the NEC campus in Birmingham, a borough in the West Midlands, England. “Brum” is a sixth-century Saxon village located in the geographical heart of England and has a population of over a million, making it the most populated city outside of London.

Visitors will find an international class casino, a boutique hotel including 178 four star bedrooms with 5 five star suites and an Asian-themed spa. Shoppers will have access to a first in region shopping experience with 50 outlet stores under a single roof.

A wide array of internationally-themed restaurants and bars will appeal to any taste and budget including champagne lounge, World Bar, and glam Sky Bar.

An 11-screen cinema with IMAX, and state-of-the-art 3D and digital technologies will add to guests’ entertainment options.

As of January 1, LG Arena at the NEC campus has been renamed to Genting Arena and will bear the name for at least the next ten years. The arena hosts over 100 shows each year and attracts nearly a million visitors annually.
