Casino gaming could be expanding in the state of Oklahoma soon as the Osage Nation are considering creating two new casino sites. The Osage Nation Congress decided in January to pass a resolution for the tribe to file applications for land-into-trust status for two different sites. If approved, both would be used for casino gaming.
One area under consideration is located in Bartlesville near the Bartlesville Municipal Airport while the other is located in Pawhuska. Officials of the tribe have not confirmed as to if the properties would be used for gaming, the filing, Resolution Number ONCR 16-10, shows that the property will be used for ‘gaming’.
The tribe was also directed by Congress to see trust status for three additional properties. One being located in Tulsa next to the Osage Casino with another being located in Skiatook near another tribal casino. A filing by the tribe shows that the properties are not going to be used for casino gaming.
The Osage Nation already has seven gaming venues located in Oklahoma and adding two more would only further their reach in the northeastern region of the state.
