The first casino of Massachusetts is set to open next Wednesday, offering visitors slots gaming, restaurants, food court, bar and more in the Plainville area of the state. Plainridge Park Casino will open their doors for the very first time on June 24th after the much-anticipated expansion of the horse track and simulcast racing center of Plainville.
Technically a slots parlor, the new facility will offer 1,222 slot machines as well as 278 electronic table games. Visitors will be able to enjoy the casino gaming and have access to two full service restaurants, a food court for quick dining and a bar that will feature live music.
In addition to the gaming floor, the venue will also be home to an event space which can house 250 people seating or 500 guests standing. A simulcast racing center has been added with bar service as well as a simulcast theatre upstairs with VIP rooms. The venue also includes an outdoor track with live trotter racing dates scheduled.
The new facility had a price tag of $225 million to operate as a small resort casino, offering only slot gaming or electronic table games. There are no dealers or a hotel on-site. This will be the first ever gaming facility to be state-licensed in Massachusetts with additional resort casinos having earned licensing and in the works for Everett and Springfield.
The Plainridge Park Casino will have a soft opening two days before the official opening, with invites being sent out for the event. The official opening date will be Wednesday June 24th , allowing the general public to enjoy the new gaming facility.
