Railroad Pass, oldest operating casino in US sold to Henderson real estate developer

Railroad Pass is considered the oldest casino in the state of Nevada still active today after opening in 1931. The casino was recently purchased by Joe DeSimone Jr. from MGM Resorts International for an undisclosed amount of money. MGM announced the sale last year and as of Wednesday, the businessman of Henderson was able to seal the deal, becoming the new owner of the property.

Until DeSimone is able to gain licensing with state gaming regulators, Marcus Gaming LLC will be handling the operation of the property. Marcus Gaming was given approval by the Nevada Gaming Commission on the 26th of March. MGM Resorts decided to sell the property, stating the small casino did not fit into the overall plans of the company.
