Scientific Games Corporation, commonly known as Sci Games, revealed that it won a new five-year deal to provide retail lottery technology in Germany. The contract began in October 2015 and was awarded through a competitive procurement process. This isn’t the first such deal between the two parties.

Under the agreement, the company should provide retail technology (725 terminals), software and maintenance services to the Lotto-Toto GmbH Sachsen-Anhalt. The deal may be extended for five additional years by the German lottery provider.

The agreement came alongside comments from key people of the Lotto-Toto and Sci Games. The company’s CEO, Klaus Scharrenberg, said that Lotto-Totto was looking forward to “continuing our trusted relationship with Scientific Games that began back in 1991.” His colleague, Maren Sieb, also a CEO, highlighted that the company’s objective was to offer both retailers and players “modern technology that serves their needs in a secure and convenient way.”

Scientific Games operates on six continents and provides its services to more than 150 lotteries all around the world. The developer is responsible for all 16 German lotteries, including services, technology and games. Sci Games’ portfolio features game content, systems, gaming machines, table game products, loyalty and rewards programs and etc.

Several months ago it also signed an eight-year extension with the German provider. At the time, the managing director of the German provider, Barbara Becker, said that they were happy to continue the successful partnership with Scientific Games that has existed nearly two decades.

Scientific Games managing director, Matthias Mueller, commented on the deal saying that his company appreciated the trust in their technology products and services. Additionally, he further explained that Sci Games was looking forward to “delivering new, upgraded terminals with easy-to-use application software.”

The company recently was awarded a three-year extension with Pacific Online Systems Corp to supply and maintain the lottery system in the Philippines.
