The Auckland property of SkyCity Entertainment is set to receive a new upgrade to the main atrium, which will have a price tag of AUD$24 million. The new improvements will include cosmetic changes of the interior including the gaming floor.

New light fixtures and chandeliers will be added as well as wall claddings. The flooring and entrance doors will be changed with new bathrooms added to the ground floor of the main property. The front door refresh has already started with additional enhancements to come.

For dining, the property will include a new gourmet burger bar to be added to the Atrium Sports Bar. The escalators of the property will also be removed and replaced with a main escalator. This will provide a better direct access link to the main gaming floor. Levels two and three will be linked via a second new escalator.

The main gaming floor located on level two will be extended with some of the atrium space filled. The gaming floor extension will allow for new space to house additional gaming options. The new gaming to come is part of an agreement between SkyCity and the New Zealand International Convention Centre.

John Mortensen, the COO New Zealand, stated that the company decided to use the opportunity to take a look at the atrium with new eyes and create an improved customer experience when individuals arrive on the property.
