Scheduled for a grand opening in the third quarter of 2025, Resorts World Sentosa is set to enhance its luxury hospitality offerings with the introduction of The Laurus, the first resort in Singapore under the prestigious The Luxury Collection by Marriott International.

A beacon of sophisticated luxury:

The Laurus, symbolizing luxury and achievement, aligns with The Luxury Collection’s ethos of offering exceptional hospitality and a gateway to the cultural essence of its locales. Positioned to redefine luxury in Singapore, this new addition will join the ranks of other esteemed brands under Marriott like The Ritz-Carlton, St Regis, and JW Marriott.

Designed by Bangkok-based P49 Deesign, renowned for their elegant aesthetics in properties across the globe, The Laurus will offer a serene refuge with its 183 suites spread over five floors, enveloped by Singapore’s lush natural beauty. These suites, including deluxe and premier options starting at 72 sq m, are set to provide a retreat with plush bedding and monochromatic accents, promising rates starting from $1,200++ a night.

The resort’s design concept marries the rich tropical vibe of Singapore with touches of colonial elegance, creating an ambience of timeless sophistication. The property will feature an array of amenities aimed at crafting a luxurious experience, including an outdoor swimming pool, a tranquil spa, and a new all-day dining restaurant offering a blend of local and international culinary delights.

For events and celebrations, The Laurus will offer intimate spaces, including a function room perfect for small gatherings and ceremonies. This attention to detail is part of The Laurus’ mission to provide curated experiences that resonate deeply with guests seeking both relaxation and cultural immersion.

Strategic expansion and transformation:

The Laurus is a cornerstone of Genting Singapore’s ambitious $6.8 billion transformation plan for Resorts World Sentosa, dubbed ‘RWS 2.0’. This expansion aims not only to refresh and enhance the resort’s offerings but also to cement its position as a top global destination amid rising international tourism competition. The plan includes several new attractions such as the Minion Land at Universal Studios Singapore and the upcoming Singapore Oceanarium, set to be three times larger than the current S.E.A. Aquarium.

Looking ahead to 2030, the development will also see the addition of a new waterfront lifestyle complex at Resorts World Sentosa, which will include two more luxury hotels and an 88m-tall light sculpture, enhancing the vibrancy of the Sentosa waterfront.

“The Laurus embodies the very essence of our ongoing pivot to offer curated destination experiences as part of RWS’ transformational expansion plans,” said Tan Hee Teck, CEO of RWS, as The Straits Times reported. This sentiment is echoed by Rajeev Menon, President of Asia Pacific excluding China at Marriott International, who noted, “This milestone reflects our commitment to contributing to the evolving luxury landscape of this extraordinary island city.”
