It was announced yesterday that the American Gaming Association (AGA) has added nine new members, out of which three are new board members. The three additions include Wind Creek Hospitality, Foxwoods Resort Casino and the Chickasaw Nation. USFantasy Sports, Crane Payment Innovations, Atrient, Sysco Corporation, Management Science Associates and RSM US are, on the other hand, the general members that are now part of the AGA.
Commenting on the expansion, Geoff Freeman, AGA president and CEO, said that the growth and diversification of the organisation was making it “more influential and effective.” He pointed out that the commitment to bring together commercial and tribal operators as well as casino suppliers was uniting the industry.
The new membership structure of the AGA was approved by the end of 2014 by the Board of Directors. The reason behind the decision was helping unify the gaming industry. Ever since, the membership of the organisation has been growing; more precisely, it went up for more than 50%.
It should be noted that the other Indian Country representatives on the AGA board include the Mohegan Tribe and the Seminole Tribe through the Mohegan Tribal Gaming Agency and the Hard Rock International.
The AGA is the top national trade group, which represents the $240 billion casino industry in the United States. Its mission is to protect harmful and misinformed public policies as well as to pave the path for innovation, growth and reinvestment in the industry.
Next week, the organisation will be hosting the Global Gaming Expo in Las Vegas. This event is known as the largest gaming conference in the world.
