Only two weeks after David Green abruptly stood down as its Chairman, and Asian casino operator Silver Heritage Group Limited has announced that Richard Barker has resigned in a similar sudden fashion as a non-executive director.

Sydney-listed Silver Heritage Group Limited is responsible for the Tiger Palace Resort Bhairahawa integrated casino resort in Nepal and used a short Monday statement (pdf) to explain that Barker had left his post ‘with immediate effect’ after deciding not to stand for re-election at its next annual general meeting, which is scheduled to take place on Friday.

Led by Hong Kong-born Mike Bolsover as Managing Director and President, Silver Heritage Group Limited was established in 2003 and additionally runs The Millionaire’s Club and Casino inside Kathmandu’s Shangri La Hotel and Resort as well as the Phoenix International Club near Hanoi. The firm saw co-founder Tim Shepherd unexpectedly resign in August despite the looming soft launch of its Tiger Palace Resort Bhairahawa venue and declared that Barker now intends to ‘focus on other business interests’.

“The board of directors thanks Mr Barker for his input and efforts during his tenure as a director,” read the brief statement from Silver Heritage group Limited.
