With less than a month until the Aussie Millions 2017 Poker Championship starts, both seasoned pros and upcoming contenders are warming up for on the one of the most popular global poker events. The championship, as it was announced, will take place at the Crown Casino and Entertainment Complex in Melbourne, Australia, where top dogs and underdogs alike will get a chance to compete for a number of exciting prices.
The 2017 Aussie Millions will run from January 11th to January 30th, during which there will be a number of events and surprises for both players and watchers back home. Namely, the organizers announced that Team PokerStars Pro Jason Somerville will once again be broadcasting the tournament from his Twitch Channel, thanks to the renewed involvement of Poker Stars in setting up the tournament, while players will be able to enter one of 20 gold ring events to mark the 20th anniversary of the championship.
The 2017 Aussie Millions will launch with an Opening Event that has a $AUS 1 Million prize pool and will be played over six days, four of which will be set aside for the starting flights. The Main Event is set to launch last, on January 22nd, and it will last for 7 days, during which players will have the chance to compete for the biggest prize of the Championship. The buy-in price for the opening is set to a relatively modest $AUS 1,150, while the main event comes with a $AUS 10,600 buy-in.
And apart from the opening and main events, there will also be a number of other tournaments, like the Pot-Limit Omaha, the H.O.R.S.E. tournament, as well as a mixed event with 8 games. And just like last year, the Aussie Millions offers three high-rolling tournaments for the best of the best – the $AUS 250K, the $AUS 100K, and the $AUS 25K Challenge tournaments which drew some of the best poker players in 2016.
