Land-based and online gaming technology solutions firm, BetConstruct, has announced the signing of a deal with French horseracing operator, Pari Mutuel Urbain (PMU), that is to permit it to stream live events via its platforms.

Sportsbetting market creation:

According to an official Monday press release published by European Gaming Media and Events, the London-headquartered innovator explained that the alliance will also enable it to provide sportsbetting markets for some of the around 2,000 live horseracing events organized by PMU each year.

First advantage to Armenia:

Holding licenses from regulators in a slew of jurisdictions including Malta, the United Kingdom, Romania and France, BetConstruct declared that it initially intends to target Armenia with the new agreement before opening it up to ‘global marketing’ from early next year.

Deal to increase audience:

David Ozararat, Regional Director for BetConstruct, stated that domestic horseracing ‘is considered a major economic sector in France’ due to the fact that it attracts in excess of 2.5 million viewers every year and regularly records annual turnover approaching €10 billion ($11.39 billion). He proclaimed that his firm now intends to strengthen and renew this audience by ‘supporting a betting market for French gallop and trotting races.’

Ozararat’s statement read…

“We are pleased to collaborate with PMU in order to broadcast world-renowned French horseracing events. This cooperation will give us and our partners the ability to attract new trade and traffic. We believe it will also allow us to enlarge this relationship in the future so that both parties may obtain the best possible results.”

Pair taking ‘a first big step’:

For his part, Philippe Thebault, Area Manager for Paris-based PMU, proclaimed that his firm is ‘very happy’ to have partnered with BetConstruct in order to give horseracing fans in Armenia the chance to wager on French events via ‘the same network’ as their domestic counterparts.

Thebault’s statement read…

“This is a first big step. Hopefully this agreement will allow BetConstruct’s worldwide partners to enjoy French races and our product as well as it will allow our organization to extend our distribution coverage with BetConstruct.”
