BetMGM is now the official sports betting partner of the Washington Nationals, after recently agreeing to an exclusive, multi-year partnership with the Major League Baseball (MLB) team’s owner, Lerner Sports Group.
Terms of the new partnership include the opening of a new BetMGM Sportsbook at the National League East division team’s home in Washington, D.C., Nationals Park, in the space currently serving as Center Field Social, and a mobile app will launch in a designated area around the Park. Co-branding opportunities and fan-focused campaigns are also part of the deal.
While fans will not be able to access the new Sportsbook while attending a Nationals game, they will, however, be able to place wagers through BetMGM’s mobile app.
“The Nationals are thrilled to expand our strong partnership with MGM Resorts into the sports betting realm.”
Chief Operating Officer for Lerner Sports Group, Alan Gottlieb, said in an official press release…
“As our Official Sports Betting Partner, BetMGM will further enhance the greatest in-venue fan experience in Washington, D.C. through its state-of-the-art entertainment products and services. The BetMGM mobile app will enable our fans to engage with the game in new and exciting ways, while the BetMGM Sportsbook connected to Nationals Park will provide Nationals fans and the D.C. community with a first-class gathering place to celebrate their passion for sports together.”
Other details of the partnership include BetMGM providing a luxury viewing and sports betting experience at the MGM National Harbor Dugout Club situated on the field next to the team dugout. The perk complements the existing experience at the eight-seat premier luxury sports box.
BetMGM branding will also be featured inside the Navy Yard neighborhood baseball park as well as on the National’s social media and digital platforms. Additionally, members of each partner’s loyalty program, Red Carpet Rewards and MGM Resorts’ M Life Rewards, will receive exclusive benefits created by BetMGM and the Nationals.
Also commenting on the recent tie-up, Chief Revenue Officer for BetMGM, Matt Prevost, said…
“This new partnership with the Nationals is our most in-depth partnership with a team and showcases the multitude of ways we’re able to engage fans in and out of stadiums. We’re extremely excited to work together to create unique experiences for Nationals fans and the broader D.C. metro area during and after games.”
And Jorge Perez, President & Chief Operating Officer for MGM National Harbor, added…
“I can’t think of a better extension to MGM National Harbor’s long-standing partnership with the Washington Nationals. Fans will have the opportunity to experience America’s pastime in the most innovative and exciting way possible. We are thrilled to continue bringing world-class entertainment to the DMV.”
