In the United States and the BetMGM retail and online sportsbetting brand has announced that it is teaming up with International Game Technology (IGT) and Sony Pictures Television so as to launch a unique service themed around the popular Wheel of Fortune television gameshow.
Born out of a partnership between American land-based casino operator MGM Resorts International and British iGaming behemoth Entain, the iGaming brand used an official Tuesday press release to detail that its new Wheel of Fortune Casino offering will be premiered in New Jersey before being rolled out to punters in a number of other jurisdictions.
BetMGM stated that the coming mobile-friendly Wheel of Fortune Casino service is ‘to become the first full brand-led online casino in North America’ and will host multiple Wheel of Fortune-themed video slots developed by London-headquartered IGT alongside ‘many other themed games and features’.
Matt Prevost serves as the Chief Revenue Officer for BetMGM and he used the press release to disclose that the Wheel of Fortune gameshow is preparing to broadcast its 40th season and has become the subject of over 250 video slots. He went on to declare that Wheel of Fortune Casino ‘will represent the latest gaming extension for the brand’ and offer iGaming aficionados the chance to enjoy a large selection of these games.

For her part and the Game Shows Executive Vice-President for Sony Pictures Television, Suzanne Prete, divulged that Wheel of Fortune was first broadcast to American television viewers in 1975 and went on to award contestants with well over $200 million in cash and prizes. She noted that the popular gameshow additionally spawned two spin-offs in the child-friendly Wheel 2000 in addition to the newer Celebrity Wheel of Fortune variant with all of its episodes being distributed to broadcasters from Kauai to Key West.
