Sports-tech entertainment company FanDuel Group has become an official mobile sports betting partner of the Buffalo Bills after scoring a multi-year deal with the National Football League (NFL) franchise that includes daily fantasy sports and sports betting, which is set to launch in New York on Saturday.

Announced on January 6, 2022, the strategic partnership gives FanDuel the use of official marks and logos of the member club of the league’s American Football Conference East division. Additionally, the team will be able to access a range of media assets, including radio and TV spots to engage fans of the Bills and “in-game signage and activations” at the club’s Highmark Stadium home venue in Orchard Park, New York.

Natural collaboration:

“The Bills take pride in being a culture that is built on genuine connection with their fans, and we are absurdly fan-focused at FanDuel, making this a natural collaboration,” said Mike Raffensperger, Chief Marketing Officer for FanDuel Group.

“As we prepare to bring America’s number one sportsbook to New York state, we will collaborate with the Bills to bring unique content and experiences to one of the most loyal fanbases in sports.”

The partnership will also see FanDuel be the presenting sponsor of ‘Bills by the Numbers,’ the Buffalo Bills-themed weekly podcast hosted by Bills Insider Chris Brown and Wall of Famer Steve Tasker, discussing key fantasy matchups and team updates.

Dan Misko, Pegula Sports & Entertainment Sr. Vice President of Business Development also commented on the partnership, stating that FanDuel “has built a strong reputation as a premier sports betting destination for sports fans.”

Misko explains that the ways FanDuel reaches people through “engaging and entertaining content is innovative and aligns” with how they [Pegula] think about connecting with their fans.

“We’re very excited for all this partnership will offer our valued fans throughout the state of New York as part of their gameday experience and look forward to working with FanDuel for many years to come.”

Both the Buffalo Bills and New England Patriots in the AFC East division have clinched a playoff birth at 10-6 apiece. If the Bills beat the 4-12 New York Jets on Sunday, Jan. 9th, they’ll own the AFC East title.

Maryland sports betting:

A month earlier in a joint effort, FanDuel Group and The Cordish Companies opened the very first FanDuel sportsbook in the state of Maryland, when on December 10th, 2021, the two companies and pro football hall-of-famer Ed Reed opened the brand-new FanDuel Sportsbook at Sports & Social Maryland at Live! Casino & Hotel in Hanover.

After more than a year of working to get it up and running in Maryland, sports betting is now legal in the Mid-Atlantic U.S. and Marylanders are now able to bet on football, basketball, and more. The hope is for sports betting to help to keep more dollars in-state and to provide another much-needed revenue source for public education without having to raise taxes on families and small businesses.
