Malta-based performance marketing company, Catena Media plc (CTM:Stockholm) recently announced that the firm’s Board of Directors has named Per Hellberg (pictured) as its new Chief Executive Officer. According to the press release, Hellberg will assume his role as CEO no later than September 3, 2018. Upon taking the position as CEO, Henrik Persson Ekdahl, Acting CEO, will return to his previous role as Board Member of Catena Media.

Commenting on the appointment, Chairman of the Board, Catena Media plc., Kathryn Moore Baker, said, ”We are very pleased to have reached an agreement with Per, who has a solid digital background and exceptional experience in leading global teams managing fast-paced growth. In previous assignments, he has demonstrated a strong capacity for successfully driving progress in transforming markets.”

Prior to the current appointment, Per Hellberg was CEO for Malta-based gaming company Nordic Gaming Group Ltd. where he completed the divestment of the firm to Betsson AB. Hellberg also possesses vast experience gained from a wide range of management and marketing roles, which include CEO for Readly International AB. His experience also includes Marketing Director for Sony Corporation. Hellberg’s background in various sectors with leading corporations around the world has further advanced his experience and knowledge to build on for future endeavors, according to the press release.

Hellberg also has extensive global commercial experience from the online industry, IGaming, consumer electronics, publishing and mobile telecommunications. His track record is proven in M&A, creating strong growth, organizational efficiency and improving operating profit.

According to the press release, Hellberg is expected to assume his role as CEO for Catena Media this fall, no later than September 3.

In a move to strengthen its position as the leading affiliate in Germany, Catena Media, which also has offices in the United Kingdom and Serbia, recently acquired Dreamworx Online Limited.
