Boston-based daily fantasy sports contest provider DraftKings recently announced the appointment of former president of CBS Local Digital Media, Ezra Kucharz, (pictured) to Chief Business Officer (CBO).

The newly created position at DraftKings is an expansion of the operator’s commercial arm and will see Kucharz oversee Ad Sales, Corporate Development and Business Development. The former special advisor to CBS CEO Leslie Moonves will now report Jason Robins, CEO and co-founder of DraftKings.

Robins said, “We see tremendous growth opportunity through expansion of our sales and sponsorships business, strategic M&A, and continued development of our many great partnerships,” according to the news release. DraftKings CEO went on to say along with his wealth of experience in these areas and others, Kucharz “also brings an entrepreneurial approach that will mesh perfectly with the innovative culture we have built at DraftKings.”

Prior to signing on with DraftKings, Kucharz spent 7-plus years with CBS, serving as president of CBS Local Digital Media from 2010-2016. In May this year, one year after transitioning to the role of a special advisor for CBS executives, Kucharz departed CBS.

Just recently, DraftKings announced it had been issued a Controlled Skill Game License from the Malta Gaming Authority enabling the company to further grow its footprint in Europe by now offering its daily fantasy sports product in Austria and Ireland.
