Eighteen months ago Caesar’s Indiana started a renovation project to transform the riverboat into a whole new casino. The characteristic Roman heads were replaced by golden horseshoes to represent the new face of the boat: Horseshoes Casino Hotel. Fifty-three million dollars went into the transformation of the boat, now named Legend. None of the staff was displaced although portions of the casino were closed during the renovations in sections. The casino offers around 2,000 slot machines and 104 table games. The slot machines are also being changed to lower cost machines, now back to taking change such as pennies, nickels and dimes instead of dollars. Horseshoes is owned by Harrah’s Entertainment and includes the riverboat casino, a gold course, a nature reserve and more.
