Harrah’s Entertainment and Penn National Gaming submitted to questions about their proposed casinos in two different sites in Kansas on July 11th in a Belle Plaine High School auditorium that included over four hundred people who watched. Harrahs is aiming for a site in Mulvane while Penn is looking at a site in Wellington. Concerns included dealing with a high water table, low numbers of slots and tables proposed and finding customers to get in the casino. Harrahs intends to fly in charter jets of gamblers as well as their customer database to help deliver patrons. Penn says it is working on a similar database which will be done before the proposed casino would be open. After lunch the people who attended were allowed to voice their concerns as well.
