In keeping with its long-term plan to develop a comprehensive offering of eco-tourism options, Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut has announced the opening of the Thrill Tower at the premier resort destination later this summer.

According to the press release, the new extreme thrill ride includes two rides, the Sky Launch and Sky Drop, which will offer riders an experience like no other inside the tower currently under construction at Foxwoods, The property owned and operated by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation is celebrating its 25th Anniversary.

Four riders will be transported to the top of the Thrill Tower on Sky Drop before they free-fall 120 feet to the bottom. To ensure a safe ride and one that provides riders with a gripping free-fall experience, the new ride makes use of a state-of-the-art magnetic breaking system.

Equally as adrenaline-inducing, Sky Launch propels a pair of riders, who are sitting back-to-back, from the ground to the top of Thrill Tower and returns them back to the bottom at jaw-dropping speed. By providing maximum rider exposure, Sky Launch is able to deliver an intense soaring sensation.

Vice President Resort Operations & Development at Foxwoods Resort Casino, Jason Guyot, said Foxwoods’ mission is to “reimagine the modern resort casino.” Guyot continued, “Thrill Tower at Foxwoods offers guests the chance to experience an unforgettable and truly unique moment, which is exactly what guests expect when they walk through our doors. The addition of these outdoor adventure attractions represent a significant development in a larger strategy to separate from the competition with bold, innovative property offerings,” according to the new release.

In June, Foxwoods announced the launch of another new ride, the HighFlyer Zipline, which at a top speed of 60 mph, delivers riders from the top of the Fox Tower some 33-stories high, to the Mashantucket Pequot Museum & Research Center.

The exact date of completion on the Thrill Tower was not mentioned by Foxwoods but when it does open, it will be open from 10am until midnight seven days a week.
