iGaming Business – Industry veteran Gary Green has spoken of his support for the Atlantic City land-based casino market despite the New Jersey resort having lost a number of facilities this year.

The Atlantic Club Casino Hotel, Revel Casino and Hotel, Showboat and Trump Plaza have all closed their doors in 2014 while the Trump Taj Mahal is also reported to be on the verge of shutting down.

Green, who currently serves as a senior consultant to Ortiz Gaming, said that despite the closures in Atlantic City, it is still a ‘healthy’ market that regularly outperforms other jurisdictions in the US.

“Atlantic City is healthy if it is viewed, invested, and operated grounded in the reality of the changing market and not in the past nor a fantasy of a future,” Green said.
