British digital sports content, technology and integrity services provider Genius Sports Group Limited has announced that its innovations are now being utilized by the Barstool-branded online sportsbook from Penn National Gaming Incorporated.
The London-headquartered firm used an official Thursday press release to declare that it has inked a long-term alliance to supply the United States-facing Barstool brand with ‘official data and fan engagement solutions’. The company stated that it is moreover partnering with the mobile-friendly sportsbetting service so as to develop an all-encompassing ‘marketing and engagement strategy’ covering potential player retention, engagement and acquisition tactics.
Genius Sports Group Limited officially went public on the New York Stock Exchange earlier this year via a $1.5 billion merger with special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) Dmy Technology about a month before purchasing Australian free-play games innovator FanHub Media Holdings Proprietary Limited. The company subsequently followed up these actions by inking an agreement to supply a broad range of information from the National Football League (NFL) to American online sportsbetting behemoth DraftKings Incorporated.
Mark Locke serves as the Chief Executive Officer for Genius Sports Group Limited and he used the press release to disclose that the Barstool online sportsbook being run by the Penn Interactive division of Penn National Gaming Incorporated is currently available to aficionados in nine American states including Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Illinois. He went on to explain that the new alliance comes less than a month after his company agreed to acquire creative performance platform developer Spirable for an undisclosed amount.
