This week, online poker platform GGPoker announced a brand-new tournament variant. Titled Flip & Go, this variant was created to make tournament participation more fun. Unique twists in the variant provide extra buy-ins during registration as well as three hole cards, plus bonus chips!
Understanding Flip & Go
When you enter a Flip & Go tournament, it starts with a flipout phase. You are dealt three hole cards instead of the normal two. You must discard one before the hand comes to an end. You will earn bonus chips if you are dealt a particular three card hand, such as a flush or straight.
The phase then ends when each table has played down to a winner. The winners will win a prize of course, but they must also play in a standard online poker Hold’em tournament to play down to the final winner. This new event starts at just $0.01, making it very easy for players to participate.
The events are scheduled for every 30 minutes at GGPoker, so you will have no trouble finding a tournament to play in.
GGPoker ambassador Daniel Negreanu commented on the new format by stating: “If you want to get straight to the hottest action in a tournament, then Flip & Go is for you. Get flipping with a standard stack or super-size your chips from the start; the choice is yours! There are extra stacks on offer during the flipout and a standard game gets underway once you’re in the money.”
Popular Brand
GGPoker is a relatively new brand to the online poker world, but one that has gained quickly in popularity among players. Hosting WSOP events as well as additional action, the site is often visited by players from around the world who want to take part in major events.
Just this past weekend, the site offered players a ton of high roller action, so the professionals were out in full force. For one pro, Eelis Parssinen, Sunday was particularly rewarding. He participated and won not a single event, but three! He earned three, five-figure paydays for taking part in the High Rollers event of the WSOPC, Blade Bounty King, and the High Rollers Blade Opener.
This is just a small example of what GGPoker offers. From daily cash games and tournaments, to special events, the site offers it for international players. As the New Year begins, we expect the platform will have a few tricks up its sleeve, offering players even more quality gaming in 2021!
