MGM National Harbor, currently under development just south of Washington, DC., will open its employment center in a ceremony planned for Monday, June 20, which will be attended by executives from MGM National Harbor, as well as local and political leaders, according to Virginia Business Magazine.

The $1.3 billion hotel and casino development’s training center is located in the newly renovated building which once was the Thomas Addison Elementary school and along with providing house training programs, will assist those hoping to gain employment in 100 available job areas.

Currently, the Prince George’s Community College Dealer School is housed at the property, where approximately 200 students are being taught four table games, including Baccarat and Blackjack. Throughout the upcoming months, approximately 3,600 employees are expected to be hired by the MGM National Harbor, located in Prince George’s County, Maryland.

According to MGM, among those scheduled to be in attendance at the grand opening of the employment center are MGM National Harbor’s President and COO, Lorenzo Creighton, along with general manager Bill Boasberg and the resort’s human resources vice president, Logan Gaskill. The building is located at 7100 Oxon Hill Rd, where the ceremony will take place from 9am to 11am. A ribbon cutting ceremony will be followed by a tour of the facility.

MGM’s casino project in Maryland is part of National Harbor, which is a 350-acre mixed use development located on the along the Potomac River.

Last month, MGM Resorts International unveiled suite designs for the MGM Nation Harbor’s 308-room hotel and resort, which will range in size from 588 square feet to 3,210 square feet. The new casino is on pace to open in December this year and will include 135,000 square feet of gaming space, 3,600 slot machines, 140 gaming tables, and a slew of other amenities.
