For the third consecutive year, the Harrah’s Cherokee Casino in North Carolina will play host to the WSOP Global Casino Championships. The event schedule has been announced by the World Series of Poker, with the casino to offer the Championship tournament in August.

The WSOP Global Casino Championships will be a three day event that will signal the end of the 13th Season of the World Series of Poker Circuit. The event is scheduled for August 8th to the 10th with no less than $1 million in prize money on offer.

The 13th season of the WSOPC has been bigger and better than ever with 47 tour stops domestically and 14 international stops. For the Global Casino Championships, Main Event winners were able to earn a seat along with those who earned the title of Casino Champions. 122 automatic qualifiers will take part in the event.

Players who earned a position on the WSOPC leaderboard in the top 50 positions were able to secure a seat along with the Top 100 of the Global Poker Index. However, those in the Global Poker Index group will have to pay the $10,000 buy-in to compete.

Poker players who took part in WSOPC side events and earned a gold ring, either in domestic or international events, can also choose to compete if they pay the $10,000 buy-in. The big event will be filmed for television and a gold bracelet will be given to the winner of the tournament.

Not only will Harrah’s Cherokee be hosting the final event of Season 13, they will also be kicking off the 14th Season by hosting the first tour stop. The action will begin in August with the Main Event set to take place August 2nd to the 16th. 12 ring events will be on the schedule.
