The new land-based Rhythm City Casino Resort in Davenport, Iowa is on target for its scheduled June 16 grand opening and 300 positions there need to be filled by management.

On Saturday, hundreds of interested applicants got a first look inside of the new $110 million casino resort when they interviewed with managers for a variety of positions at the brand new location. One applicant, Leann Noack, said, “Instead of waiting at home for someone to call to do your interview, you got to do it right on the spot which is awesome,” and, “I’ve had my eye on this place since it started ground break so I’m really excited it’s around this area for something so large in the entertainment industry, this is a huge opportunity for anybody that loves to do something like that.” Mo Hyder, the facility’s general manager added, “We’ve been very fortunate we have a tremendous amount of interest and some really great folks come through our doors [on Saturday],” according to KWQC-TV6.

In addition to the hundreds of positions that need to be filed and the hundred-plus, which since the beginning of the year have already been hired, more than 250 existing employees of the Rhythm City Casino’s river facility will work at the new location. In addition to the creation of hundreds of jobs, Hyder says that the local economy will be positively impacted by the new casino location. Hyder said, “It’s [going to] really position us in the manner that’s gonna generate more revenue, not only for the city, but for the state, as well and our partner, the RDA, which in turn takes the money that we generate and gives it back to the community.”

Attendees of Saturday’s career fair hope that the next time they walk into the new casino resort it will be as an employee. Kacey Russell, the manager of Ruthie’s Steak & Seafood at the casino, said, “It’s very exciting to see the ball rolling and see everything come into play from the construction to all the new hires, to the energy of the overall staff, getting more and more excited as the time is winding down to opening day.”

Located at Interstates 80 and 74 in Davenport, the new casino resort features a six-story hotel with 106 rooms, a 33,800-square-foot gaming floor with designated nonsmoking and smoking areas, 800 slot machines, 30 gaming tables, a 1,500-seat event center, three restaurants, pool, and spa.
