On Monday, the Raiders held a topping out ceremony that was invite-only for their new Las Vegas stadium. The new stadium will have 65,000 seats and cost $1.9 billion to construct. During the ceremony, dignitaries added their signature to a steel beam that connects the final roof truss to the frame of the stadium and watched on as the beam was put into place.

Building the Stadium:

The final truss was put into place and the construction project can now move on to the next phase. General contractors working on the project can now move on to the challenge of construction by installing the roof which will be created from translucent polymer.

Months ago, a Raiders subsidiary company behind the construction of the stadium’s chief operating officer, Don Webb, stated that the goal was to have the roof trusses installed by the end of July. The last of the steel beams have now been put in place, connecting a ring of 26 roof trusses of the project.

Newly Named:

The project has now been newly named with the title, Allegiant Stadium. Allegiant Travel Co, the parent company, had representatives on hand taking part in the beam signing at the topping-out ceremony.

Since May, there was speculation that Allegiant was the name sponsor for the stadium. The rumor mill began when the company was found to have sought a trademark with the United States Patent and Trademark Office for the name Allegiant Stadium. The company acknowledged the naming rights deal with the Raiders team on Monday.

According to reviewjournal.com

The terms of the naming rights deal have not been disclosed. However, experts of similar deals expect that Allegiant paid as much as $20 million to $25 million in cash and in-kind services a year in order to place their name on the Las Vegas stadium.
