In what represents its eighth successive quarter deal, Kambi Group plc (KAMBI:FN Stockholm), subsidiary of the Kindred Group, has reportedly signed a multi-year deal to provide its premium Sportsbook and technology services to South African-based Sun International (SUI:Johannesburg).

With casinos, resorts and luxury hotel products across more than 25 destinations in 8 countries including South Africa, Zambia, Nigeria, Botswana, Namibia, Lesotho, Chile and Swaziland, Sun International is one of the Southern Hemisphere’s largest gaming companies.

The company, which owns a 42.5% share of the South African casino market, also operates sportsbook brand SunBet.co.za. Currently, the South Africa-facing online sportsbook utilizes proprietary technology for its operations, but as part of the agreement, SunBet will transition to Kambi’s full-cycle sports betting solution. The migration to the Kambi Sportsbook will be supported by a Bede Gaming backend platform, prior to the brand potentially being taken into further markets.

Along with the digital upgrade, provisions are also reportedly in place for Kambi’s retail product suite to be launched. Initially, it will roll-out across Sun International-owned South African-based casino resorts, according to the news release.

The deal is expected by Kambi to impact 2018 revenue positively, with potential for strong growth in subsequent years.

Kambi CEO Kristian Nylén, said: “We are delighted to have signed a company of the calibre of Sun International and, in doing so, increase our already substantial international footprint. Sun International is one of the largest and most respected gaming companies in South Africa and Latin America, and therefore we are very excited by the potential this new partnership offers. The deal continues what has been a very successful period for Kambi. Not only have we secured extensions to some of our key customer contracts, but we have also maintained a steady flow of new customer wins, illustrating the relevance and scalability of the Kambi Sportsbook.”

Meanwhile, Sun International CEO, Anthony Leeming, said: “One of Sun International’s stated aims has been to increase the size of our online business and in Kambi we are confident we have selected the right partner to help us achieve this goal. Kambi has a record of spring-boarding visionary Sportsbooks and I believe our customers will soon have access to the number one Sportsbook on the market.”
