WPTDeepStacks Brussels win makes 6th WPT trophy for Laurent Polito

Poker pro Laurent Polito is no stranger to the World Poker Tour. Having won four World Poker Tour National titles in Europe and a High Roller event, Polito already had five WPT title wins before taking part in the WPTDeepStacks Brussels festival. During the €1,200 buy-in Main Event, 400 players registered to compete, creating a total prize pool of €497,841. In the end, Polito was able to outlast the competition at the Grand Casino Brussels VIAGE, claiming yet another WPT title win.

According to the WPT, Polito was fifth in chips when the final day of the Brussels tournament began. Twelve players would return to the felt, including several top pros like Felipe Ramos and Jerome Sgorrano, the chip leader. Final table play would begin once three people were eliminated, at which point Polito would be 7^th in chips.

Polito would hang on, working his way through the competition as players continued to be eliminated. In the end, Polito would face Leonardo Armino in heads-up play. The poker pro would have a slight chip advantage going into this round, but nothing that he couldn’t overcome. Polito quickly gained the chip lead and once he widened the gap, the final hand would eventually take place.

On the final hand, Polito would have an Ace that would defeat Armino’s Q-9 of Clubs to earn the first place win. The WPTDeepStacks tour will now head to the Casino Barrière de Deauville for the WPTDeepStacks Deauville Festival from December 4^th to the 10^th.
