New laws went into effect the first of September that allowed cash poker games to be played in Italy legally. Since over two million citizens had played at an online poker site at least once when it was still a criminal act, it looks like the future of online poker is very bright in Italy. The government has instituted a licensing process for those online gambling sites to ensure player protection.
