On the north end of the Las Vegas Strip, the Lucky Dragon is beginning to take shape. The hotel/casino will be of boutique style and will have a Chinese theme, set to open in 2016. The property owners have taken an aggressive approach when it comes to the construction phase, with the property located on Sahara Avenue. Over the last few months, construction workers have progressed rapidly with the construction.

The Lucky Dragon is located on a 2.5 acre site which is between the condos of Allure and the Golden Steer restaurant. The Penta Building Group announced the completion of the hotel of Lucky Dragon on Friday, giving an inside look into what has been completed.

Paul Dutmer is the project manager of Penta, who stated that the company started the project only a few months ago, taking on one floor per week, as soon as the lower portion of the hotel was finished. With an aggressive construction schedule, Penta was able to complete the hotel quickly and now will complete the parking garage and construct the casino which is of smaller scale.

The site of the Lucky Dragon was originally going to be a second tower for Allure. However, the market for the condo-style residence collapsed. The developer eventually decided to create a boutique casino instead on the property. The owner of the property is Andrew Fonfa, the Allure developer, based on records in the Clark County Records Office.
