Sportradar is a global leader in sports data intelligence who recently announced a new sponsorship with Major League Baseball. The two have signed a multi-year deal that will be wide ranging, set to expand and enhance the distribution of the real time gaming statistics of MLB games.

Beginning with 2019 Season:

The new deal will begin with the 2019 season, encompassing media and gaming rights on a domestic and international level. The MLB will be moving into a new era as Sportradar will have exclusive distribution rights for the real time gaming statistics of the MLB, with data collected from every ballpark.

The data is collected via the MLB proprietary technology and stat operators. The data will then be transmitted to regulated operators of sports betting as well as media companies. Sportradar will have exclusive rights to allow the company to distribute game feeds to gaming operators located outside the United States in areas where sports betting is legal.

According to a recent press release…

Executive Vice President, Gaming & New Business Ventures for the MLB, Kenny Gersh, commented on the new partnership by stating: “A high-quality, reliable, and fast official data feed is the building block to creating engaging gaming products for MLB fans. Sportradar, a proven industry leader in data distribution, is perfectly positioned to help MLB deliver an exceptional Official MLB betting feed. We are excited about the opportunities that this partnership will unlock as the sports betting landscape continues to unfold in the U.S.”

Exciting Partnership:

Sportradar is excited to partner with the MLB, becoming their official global data partner. Sportradar Chief Executive Officer Carsten Koerl commented on the partnership, stating that the company is excited to be working with the MLB. Sportradar looks at the partnership as a tremendous opportunity.

The new partnership will open new doors for the fans of Major League Baseball and Sportradar looks forward to utilizing their global experience to give fans as well as partners a quality experience.

Additional Partnerships:

The partnership with Sportradar is not the first for the MLB. In November of last year, the sports league announced a deal with MGM Resorts International. The deal will see MGM be the official entertainment partner of the MLB. They will be able to promote their brands and gaming options via MLB broadcasts and digital platforms.
