Early Monday, a Ferndale, Washington man was arrested for allegedly calling in a bomb threat to the Silver Reef Hotel Casino Spa located at 4876 Haxton Way in Ferndale.

The Bellingham Herald reports that 45-year-old Shane Patrick Clark was arrested on suspicion of threats to bomb or injure property, a felony in Washington.

According to a prosecutor’s statement read in court on Tuesday, Clark reportedly called the Whatcom County casino after having lost money at the slot machines and left a voicemail around 9:30om Sunday asking, “You want me to blow your (expletive) building up? Hello?”

A summary of Whatcom County Sheriff’s deputies’ reports indicates that seven minutes later, the man reportedly called back, and using more expletives, ranted at an employee of the casino, who happened to recognize the man’s voice from the voicemail recording earlier. According to the news agency, the man was angry about the money he’d lost at the casino and about payout policies at the slots.

The casino, owned and operated by the Lummi Nation, reportedly matched a Players Club account belonging to Clark to the phone number on the caller ID. Clark was tracked down by Sheriff’s deputies and he reportedly told them that he had phoned the Silver Reef Casino twice, but that he did not remember leaving a message. According to the statement read in court, Clark said he thought that someone at the casino had hung up on him and that he did not realize his call had went to a recorded message, the Bellingham Herald reports.

Bail was reportedly set at $5,000 on Tuesday by Superior Court Commissioner Pamela Englett.
